Rule 414 of the South Carolina Appellate Court Rules (SCACR) was adopted to foster and aid clinical law programs in South Carolina law schools. These programs provide legal services to those who are unable to afford private legal counsel and educate law students in providing these legal services. A person who is employed full-time by a law school within this State which has been approved by the American Bar Association and is responsible for supervising or teaching in the clinical law program operated by the law school may be issued a limited certificate of admission if the person meets the requirements set forth in Rule 414(b).
